ALCOI

Installation of aluminium doors and windows is a crucial part of any construction project, especially from the health and safety perspective. Due to the heavy lifting of sliding doors, sliding aluminium windows and specific glazed units, it is easy to drop something or slip accidentally. Handling these aluminium doors and windows manually is risky and may lead to injuries and accidents, especially sprains, bruising and fractures. Slips and falls are the most common cause of accidents in the construction industry.

To prevent these accidents, at ALCOI, we invest heavily in health and safety training for all our employees. This includes regular training for aluminium doors and windows installers and our office staff, sales associates, workshop and management team. Our installers and workshop employees undergo routine health and safety training to minimise the risks of injuries due when handling aluminium doors and windows installation or even machinery.  In addition, ALCOI follows health and safety standards right from the project’s inception until the aluminium doors and windows are installed at the site. This is particularly done for the safety of pedestrians, occupants, etc.

When loading the vans, the installers are taught to pack the vans carefully and ensure that the weight is adequately distributed. This reduces the likelihood of the sliding doors and sliding aluminium windows moving during transportation, reducing the risk of injuries when opening the van to unload. In addition, the vans must always have their doors properly shut while manoeuvring to stop any items from falling out of the truck and causing injury.

Working at height can increase the risk to our employees and those around them. Therefore, once the sliding aluminium windows or sliding doors have reached the installation site, our fitters are careful not to place anything near the window space that could injure someone passing below. In addition, an installation expert from our team periodically travels to where we are carrying out work to inspect the health and safety standards of the installation team and records any actions taken to enforce health and safety standards.

The machines, too, undergo diligent maintenance and are inspected for issues regularly. As our work often involves handling aluminium doors and windows and other metal products, installers are provided with all the necessary equipment and disposable clothing to protect our workers from the metal dust particles.

We also have a Health and Safety Committee that regularly reviews the health and safety reports from across the business, allowing the company to take action where necessary. ALCOI works to the highest standards because health and safety laws are vital in our industry. In addition, we support every client we work with by providing high-quality, professional products built to last, safe installations, and excellent customer service.
